Terms and Conditions
A hard copy of these terms and conditions will need to be signed by the assessor and the parents of the person being assessed before any contract is entered into.
Diagnostic Assessment for Dyslexia / Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD)
1. Professional Status and Regulatory Compliance
The assessment will be conducted by:
A Specialist Teacher Assessor holding Level 7 qualification - Postgraduate Certificate in Assessment Practice for Dyslexia and Literacy
The assessment will be conducted in accordance with:
SASC guidance for SpLD assessment
The Equality Act 2010
Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) Regulations (if applicable)
The Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR
Relevant professional ethical codes (e.g., PATOSS / BPS / HCPC)
2. Purpose and Scope of the Assessment
The diagnostic assessment is designed to:
Identify whether the client presents with a Specific Learning Difficulty (SpLD), including dyslexia
Provide evidence of need for reasonable adjustments under the Equality Act 2010
Offer recommendations for support
The assessment is educational in nature and does not constitute a medical diagnosis.
Where appropriate, the report may be used for:
Examination access arrangements (subject to JCQ regulations)
Higher education Disabled Students’ Allowance (if assessor holds appropriate qualification)
Workplace reasonable adjustments
Educational planning
Acceptance of the report is at the discretion of the receiving institution or organisation.
3. Assessment Process
The assessment may include:
Developmental and educational history
Standardised psychometric testing (administered and scored in accordance with test publisher requirements)
Literacy attainment measures.
Cognitive processing assessments.
Observations and professional analysis.
Review of previous reports (where provided).
All tests used will be age-appropriate, standardised, and current.
The client (or parent/carer where appropriate) agrees to provide accurate background information. Failure to disclose relevant information may affect the validity of conclusions.
4. Fees and Payment Terms
Screener - £50
Full diagnostic dyslexia assessment - £549
Learning profile report - £299
Literacy/Numeracy Review - £249
The balance must be paid before the finalised report is shared.
No report will be released until full payment has been received.
Fees cover:
Administration of assessment.
Scoring and analysis.
Written report.
Feedback session (if included).
5. Cancellation and Non-Attendance
Cancellations within 7 days of the appointment will incur a £100 fee.
Rescheduling is at the assessor’s discretion and subject to availability.
6. Confidentiality and Data Protection
All personal data will be processed in accordance with:
UK GDPR.
Data Protection Act 2018.
The lawful basis for processing is:
Performance of a contract.
Legitimate interest.
Explicit consent (for special category data)
Information gathered during the assessment will remain confidential and will not be disclosed to third parties without written consent, except where:
There is a legal obligation to disclose.
There is a safeguarding concern.
Required by a regulatory body.
Assessment records will be securely retained for a minimum of 6 years (or until the client reaches age 25 for minors), in line with professional indemnity requirements, and then securely destroyed.
Clients have the right to:
Request access to their data.
Request correction of inaccuracies.
Withdraw consent (subject to contractual limitations).
7. Validity and Limitations of the Report
Any reports produced by Learning Bridge Dyslexia Assessment and Advice:
Reflects functioning at the time of assessment.
Is based on the data available at that time.
Is prepared solely for the named client.
The report must not be altered, edited, or partially reproduced without written permission.
The assessor cannot guarantee:
Eligibility for Disabled Students’ Allowance.
Approval of examination access arrangements.
Workplace adjustments.
These decisions are made by the relevant governing body.
8. Examination Access Arrangements (If Applicable)
Where the assessment is intended to inform JCQ access arrangements:
The school/centre remains responsible for determining “normal way of working.”
The assessor provides evidence of need but does not award arrangements.
The report does not automatically entitle a candidate to specific adjustments.
9. Safeguarding
If information disclosed during the assessment indicates a risk of harm to the client or others, the assessor has a professional duty to share relevant information with appropriate authorities in accordance with safeguarding legislation.
10. Complaints Procedure
Any concerns should first be raised in writing within 14 days of receiving the report.
If unresolved, complaints may be directed to:
SASC (for APC holders).
Relevant professional body, PATOSS.
Professional indemnity insurance is in place.
11. Liability
The assessor’s liability is limited to the fee paid for the assessment.
The report is provided for educational and support planning purposes only. The assessor is not liable for decisions made by third parties based on the report.
12. Consent and Agreement
By signing below, you confirm that:
You understand the nature and purpose of the assessment.
You understand that this report cannot be used for evidence for Disability Living Allowance (DLA).
You consent to the assessment and processing of personal data.
You agree to these Terms and Conditions.
You understand the limitations of the report.
